The Rt. Rev. David J. Bena is the Assisting Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of CANA East. He received a Bachelor's from Stetson University, a Master's from Virginia Theological Seminary, a Doctor in Ministry from the Graduate Theological Foundation, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary. He served as a Marine officer before ordination and as an Air Force chaplain and parish priest after ordination.
From 2000 to 2007, he was the Suffragan Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Albany. He has been a bishop in the Convocation of Anglicans in North America from 2007 to the present. He is presently serving as Assisting Bishop of the Missionary Diocese of CANA East
Mary Ellen attended Alabama College in Montevallo, Alabama. Her college career was interrupted when she married Dave in 1967. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Troy State in Alabama, a Master’s in Counseling from Troy State, and a Master’s in Library Science from State University of New York – Albany. She is a retired librarian. For a number of years, she was a prayer minister at the Healing Oratory of the Spiritual Life Center in Greenwich, NY., and is devoted to the Christian Healing Ministry.
Mary Ellen and Dave have three grown children and six beautiful grandchildren.
